News - Cake Sale for Haiti

Last Friday, 29th January, the school’s morning break was enriched with cakes and buns for all tastes. The main hall of Atlantic Language Galway could have well been a highly regarded bakery or patisserie thanks to the effort of many students and staff! Many had cooked and baked in order to raise funds for the survivors of the huge earthquake which struck Haiti on the 12th of January. Atlantic joined forces with Irish charity GOAL (www.goal.ie) which is working in Port-Au-Prince. GOAL’s Galway coordinator Ronan Scully was at Atlantic on Friday morning and spoke about the charity’s work in the earthquake-struck country. The atmosphere in the school was livened with music from teacher Aron accompanied by students Lee from Korea and Takka from Japan. Thanks to the sale and further donations we raised €600..well done!!!
